Self-esteem is the belief that not only are you good at what you do, but also that you deserve to be happy throughout your life. Those with high self-esteem have a positive outlook on life, and are willing to do what needs to be done to reach their goals, even if that means taking a few risks along the way. 1. Manage Negativity
If you want to have high self-esteem, you have to get rid of the negativity that surrounds you. This includes your own thoughts, as well as those around you who perpetuate negative emotions.
2. Think Positive Thoughts

5. Create a Accomplishment or Gratitude List
Take the time to list all the things you have accomplished, as well as those things for which you are grateful. When negativity does try to creep in, simply look at this list and acknowledge just how powerful you really are.
